Music -- Papa Roach: The Paramour Sessions

Getting Away with Murder was an album that suprised me. Papa Roach pumped out hit after hit on that one so it's always interesting to see how they follow up.

Well the time has finally come for Papa Roach to take that next step forward and with The Paramour Sessions they did. Now right off the bat I can tell its not going to have as many "hits" as Murder did, but its an album that signals a band growing in maturing and song writing ability.

Don't get me wrong, Roach still knows how to rock, they blow the doors off the album right from the start kicking it off with "....To Be Loved" which would fit perfectly on any of their previous albums.

However its a song like "Roses on My Grave" that shows how they've changed. Its an epic rock ballad that really allows front man, Jacoby Shaddix, to display his vocal talent. "Forever" follows that same flow and might just be the best song on the whole album.

"No More Secrets" is a rip-roaring rock song that will have your head nodding right along as he screams out "What goes around comes around, baby!"

"My Heart is a Fist" is a first rate rock anthem and fills that little bit of something that would have otherwise been missing from the album.

Overall Papa Roach marches on. Anyone who has been a fan of any of their previous albums is going to love this one and the steps they've taken forward. I'd also highly recommend this one as one to check out for anyone looking to step into the Roach Motel and check them out. A top notch album to be sure.
