Music -- Radford: Sleepwalker

Radford very nearly was done after their initial success. A few songs appeared on movie soundtracks during the late 90s and then they finally released a CD in 2000. It was received without a ton of fan fare and the band slowly drifted into oblivion. However, lead singer - Jonny Radford Mead, was determined to get his voice out there and some old and some new members joined up to reform Radford and release Sleepwalker.

Radford has a sound thats both unique and common. Their songs sound like something you've heard, but as you try to put your finger on exactly what they sound like you can't really do it. Mead's voice drifts over to the whiney wails of Our Lady Peace front man, Raine Maida while the lyrics sound like something taken from Trapt, and a background rock swiped from Muse. Add all that up and you have something that sounds very familiar, yet oddly unique.

Sleepwalker begins with probably their best song, Therapy and then goes about mixing in fast paced rockers and soft rock melodies throughout the album. Highlights include, Easier, Control, and Someone Somewhere.

Overall the cd is deep with quality songs and produces a number of surprising hits. Anyone who's a fan of Trapt, Crossfade, or the like would do well to check out Radford.
