Music -- Silvertide: Show & Tell

Silvertide is not exactly what you'd expect from a modern rock band and that's a good thing in an area of music that has become largely a new series of "clone bands" entering on a daily basis.

Silvertide's Show & Tell takes us back to a time when rock, rocked. Their sound is vintage 70's/80's rock with a modern edge. Take AC/DC and mix in just a hint of Puddle of Mudd and that's as close as I can get to decribing Silvertide's sound.

Huge guitar riffs and heavy pounding drum beats dominate this album from start to finish. There's no fear to just unleash a rip roaring solo in the middle of a tune paying hommage to the glory days of rock.

The album begins with just a mind blowingly fantastic song - Ain't Comin' Home . This tune sounds like it was from another era and is just one of those great driving tunes.

The second track - Devil's Daughter - is another classic rock gem. I mean with a chorus that says: "I went to bed with an angel/At least that's what she said/But as she tore of her dress lord I must confess/I got the Devil's daughter in my bed" how could it not be?

Blue Jeans is their current single from the CD and probably the most modern sounding rock song and even it sounds great.

Silvertide is definately a band worth listening to if you can appreciate the classic rock stylings. In fact they may have put it together better than some of those old school bands.
