Welcome to the ZeroFold!

Music -- Pete Yorn: Nightcrawler
"The Day I Forget", "Music for the Morning After", and now "Nightcrawler" finishes off a day in the life of Pete Yorn.

I've always considered Pete Yorn to be John Mayer, but with something to actually say. Both write fairly simple songs (from a technical perspective), both live off of their guitar and vocals, and both are firmly planted in a pop-rock land. However, Mayer gets into the sickeningly sweet side of things that make moments like Chris' zit in Family Guy forcing him to write "Please Stop John Mayer" absolutely true.

Anyways lets get on with the CD review. The easiest way to say this is that there's nothing new here. If you've liked the two previous Yorn albums, you'll like this one. He doesn't deviate from the formula he used there at all. In fact one of the interesting things about Yorn's work is that you could pretty much mix all his songs together and place them on a CD and it would be very difficult to tell which was his first album and which was his last. There's something to be said with consistancy.

His single "For Us" might be his best effort yet, though it ends too soon. Its pop-rock at its best mixing the full set of ranges of Yorn's vocal talents. "Undercover" is another great song that was actually on the Spiderman Soundtrack way back.

Its hard to say much more than that with the sound being so similiar to his previous efforts so I'll just end it with the simplest thing I can. If you're still enjoying his previous work, pick up Nightcrawler. If you aren't, this isn't going to do anything to change your mind.
