Movies -- The Legend of Zorro

Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are back in the action/comedy world with another Zorro and its definately a fun ride, if a bit lacking in plot and common sense.

The Legend of Zorro begins how a movie like this should be begin - a basic introduction of the plot and a big over-the-top action scene. In this case, California is voting on whether or not they should join the United States. Of course some villians come to ruin the event and Zorro saves the day.

This continues to be the overall story as some secret organization wants to promote a civil war among the states and prevent the U.S. from becoming a power greater than their own. Along the way the Pinkertons get involved and Zorro's home life goes through some rough spots because of it.

What makes Zorro fun, has nothing to do with the plot though. Its all Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. They have a great chemistry and just make an average movie actually be pretty entertaining. Well that and the fight scenes. Once again Zorro provides some great duels and a couple that you wish were longer, like the end fight between Zorro and the main bad guy. A terrific fight thats cut too short because of a lot of explosions and an out of control train. Too much? Nah, expect nothing less in this Zorro flick.
