Movies -- Mr. 3000

Mr. 3000 begins with Bernie Mac doing his thing back in 1995, racking up career hit #3000 and then quitting after the game despite his team being involved in a penant race.

Flash forward to 2004. Waiting to get voted into the hall of fame, Mac has focused his whole life around 3000 hits, setting up endorsements and stores. As it turns out though, when reviewing his career it turns out he is actually 3 hits short. So back to baseball he goes as a 47 year old, finding out things arent the same as they were.

While not as funny as I thought it would be, there is actually more heart and story in the movie then I guessed it would have had. It's actually not all that different from Mr. Baseball. Same sort of selfish player that learns to accept who is rather than who he acts like.

Overall a fine flick for baseball fans every where.
