Movies -- Wild Hogs

Okay, so its been a while since this thing got updated, but basically there hasn't been any reason to. Movies and music have been running slow since the new year, but we're finally inching towards spring and the next round of blockbusters. Now Wild Hogs isnt a blockbuster, its not even all that great of a movie, but it exceeds at the basic thing you're looking for if you go to see it - laughs.
The cast is star laden with Tim Allen, Travolta, Macy, and Lawrence being middle-age buddies looking to get away from their ho-hum lives to go on a cross-country bike ride.
Along the way they run into, an overly "friendly" cop who views their campsite as something a little more perverted, and then later a gang of "real" bikers who don't take kindly to a bunch of suburbanites riding on their road. Of course matters are just made worse when the Wild Hogs end up blowing-up the biker's bar.
Its a typical buddy movie comedy with one character taking on the role of physical comedy (the surprisingly funny Macy), another being the loud mouth (Lawrence), a third being the adventurous type (Travolta), and finally the guy who tries to keep things in perspective (Allen). Predictable, but funny and its the stars that make it entertaining, you can tell they are having a blast making this movie. Of course the funniest part of the whole thing maybe when the credits start to role and the story wraps up.
Overall, its not something that you'll really remember a month from now, but Wild Hogs is a good popcorn flick to have a few laughs with. |
